EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Friday, March 28, 2025, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu condemned the act and ordered the security agencies to ensure that those responsible face justice.
The President expressed shock over the incident, describing it as a senseless act of violence. He commiserated with the families of the victims and assured them that the government would not allow criminals to spill the blood of innocent Nigerians without consequences.
“The President noted that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria, and all citizens have the right to move freely in any part of the country without fear. He further commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their swift intervention to prevent further unrest,” the statement read.
Similarly, Governor Okpebholo has strongly condemned the brutal killing and burning of the victims, who were reportedly suspected of being kidnappers.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor described the act as “barbaric and unacceptable,” emphasizing that jungle justice would not be tolerated in the state.

Representing the governor, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Government House, SP Solomon Osaghale, vowed that those responsible for the killings would be identified and prosecuted.
