British monarch King Charles III has expressed admiration for Nigerian Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the monarch made this revelation on The King’s Music Room, a new Apple Music show that premiered on Monday, March 10, 2025. King Charles shared that Davido’s music has deepened his appreciation for Pidgin English, and he hopes to speak it during his next visit to Nigeria.

In a post shared by Davido via his Instagram story, the British King also praised the Afrobeat genre, acknowledging its growing global influence.

“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” King Charles stated.

Meanwhile, Davido has hailed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in football.

This declaration suggests that the Afrobeat star rates Osimhen above other top Super Eagles players like Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface.
