Kogi Governor Announces Minimum Wage For Civil Servants
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has announced a new minimum wage of ₦72,500 for civil servants in the state, effective immediately.
This decision follows the establishment of committees by 17 state governors, including Kogi, to implement the new minimum wage.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the announcement was made during a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Government House in Lokoja on October 7, 2024. Governor Ododo emphasized that his administration is committed to enhancing the welfare of civil servants and promoting economic growth within the state.
In addition to the wage increase, Governor Ododo revealed that the tax burden associated with the new minimum wage will be suspended for one year to alleviate financial pressures on civil servants.
He stated, “After taking a look at all the indices and to alleviate the financial burdens of the Civil Servants, we have graciously approved the total sum of ₦72,500 as the new minimum wage for the state’s Civil Servants.”
