EKO HOT BLOG reports that the suit, which seeks an interim injunction, was filed on Tuesday and was sighted on Thursday. It names Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Ijebu Ode Local Government, and the Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council among the respondents.
The court document, dated December 16, 2025, is titled “In the High Court of Ogun State in the Ijebu Ode Judicial Division Holden at Ijebu Ode” and is listed as Suit No C3 238 2025.
In the suit, the claimant identified himself as Otunba Wasiu Olasunkanmi Ayinde Adesanya Marshal.
Also listed as respondents are the Executive Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ogun State, the Secretary of Ijebu Ode Local Government, the Chairman of the Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council, and the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi.
The application before the court is a Motion Ex Parte brought pursuant to Order 38 Rule 4 and Order 39 Rule 1 of the Ogun State High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2024, Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution as amended, and the inherent jurisdiction of the court.
KWAM 1 is asking the court to grant “an order of interim injunction restraining the respondents, either by themselves, privies, assigns, agents or anyone acting on their behalf, from taking any steps in the installation process of the next Awujale of Ijebuland pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”
He further prayed the court for “such further order or orders as the court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this case.”
In outlining the grounds for the application, the claimant cited Sections 36 and 6(6)(c) of the 1999 Constitution, stating that he is an aspirant to the Awujale stool and that the court’s intervention is required to protect his interest.
The document argued that an interim injunction was necessary to preserve the subject matter of the dispute and prevent it from being interfered with while the substantive suit is pending.
The legal action adds a fresh dimension to the Awujale succession process, with the court expected to decide whether the installation process should be halted until the case is determined.
The development follows an earlier rejection of KWAM 1’s lineage claim by the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, which declared his submitted linkage form invalid.
The Fuji musician had publicly declared his interest in becoming the Awujale of Ijebuland, basing his claim on alleged lineage ties to the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, a position that has been strongly disputed.

However, an official letter dated December 11, 2025, and signed by key officers of the ruling house, acknowledged receipt of the completed particulars and linkage form submitted by Otunba Adesanya, despite the family’s earlier stance.
