- Ladoja has nominated three Mogajis to fill vacant positions in Ibadan’s traditional hierarchy
- The nominees include Wole Arisekola, Kabiru Makinde and Charles Durosaro
- The installation date will be announced after further directives from the Olubadan
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has approved the nomination of three Mogajis to address vacancies that emerged in the traditional succession structure following the deaths of a High Chief and other traditional title holders.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the nominations were made in consultation with members of the Olubadan-in-Council, according to a statement released on Monday by the Administrative Secretary of the Olubadan-in-Line Traditional Chiefs, Sanusi Akinkunmi.
Those selected are businessman and philanthropist Wole Arisekola, Kabiru Ademola Makinde and Charles Durosaro.

The development follows the deaths of several traditional chiefs, which left openings in different lines within Ibadan’s established chieftaincy succession system.
The traditional administration said the nomination process for another vacant position had not been concluded and would be announced at a later date.
It also said arrangements for the formal installation of the newly nominated Mogajis would be communicated after further directives from the Olubadan.

Ibadan operates a distinctive traditional leadership system in which Mogajis, who traditionally oversee family compounds, occupy an important position in the progression towards higher chieftaincy titles.
The Olubadan-in-Council remains central to the administration of the traditional institution and the succession process, with chiefs advancing through recognised ranks and lines before attaining the Olubadan stool.
