The Managing Director of Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), Hon. Abdoulbaq Ladi Balogun, has pledged that the Lagos State Government will continue to harness the full potential of the state’s waterways to ensure sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, promotion of water tourism, improved livelihoods, and increased revenue generation.

The Managing Director gave this assurance during his agency’s annual waterways event tagged: “Ignite Lagos 2.0: Water Steeze Edition” held over the weekend at the Five Cowries Terminal Falomo Ikoyi.
“This event is being held to encourage more people to explore Lagos’ waterways, boost waterway transportation and tourism, and provide an opportunity to showcase Lagos’ aquatic resources and cultural heritage”, he said.
Balogun emphasized that hosting events such as the management retreat not only contributes to the economic growth of the state through revenue generation but also stimulates local businesses in various sectors, including catering, entertainment, and decorations.
In his words, “Unique venue settings often enhance social interaction and create a conducive atmosphere for business or personal connections ensuring networking opportunities for attendees.

The event, which had fun seekers on board the Agency’s barge, MF Adimu Orisha, sailed from the Five Cowries Terminal Ikoyi to the Ikoyi link bridge with lots of music, dance and networking.
