Residents of Lagos have appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to find a way of tackling the Coronavirus pandemic rather than imposing another lockdown.
This is coming after the Lagos State Government’s poll on Twitter soliciting votes on whether the government should declare another phase of total lockdown in Lagos following the rising cases of COVID-19.
Lagosians on twitter bared their minds totally, while the poll results seem to be in favour of a lockdown extension, the replies and responses seem to be against a further extension of the lockdown.

As at 11pm, the poll which commenced on Tuesday had 67,397 votes with 50 percent of participants supporting lockdown, 39 per cent saying no and 11 percent neutral.
With the hashtag, #NoLagosLockdown, Lagosians decried the level of poverty, insecurity and hardship suffered by the populace during the first phase of the Lockdown, still number of cases did not drop.
They said there was need for people to be exposed to the virus so they can be immune to it, adding that locking down was unnecessary since the virus is as common as a flu.

We don’t need another lockdown in Lagos or anywhere in the world. No need for it. It is proven to be even harmful to health.
This lockdown is
Ineffective
unnecessary
suspicious
annoying
economy flattening
Aggravating.
And it’s against universal human rights.

Lagos state needs no extended lockdown. What the state needs is to flourish and prosper even in the midst of the pandemic and adhere to safety practices that will help curb the spread.
However, we say NO to an extended lockdown

No palliative was distributed during the last lock down, hunger increased, people lost their job, insecurity increased.
