During a recent appearance on Radio Lagos 107.5fm’s “Ojutaye” program, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative & Civic Engagement, highlighted the Lagos State Government’s dedication to easing the burdens of its residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this commitment is exemplified by the Sanwo-Olu Listen Financial Assistance Programme, which aims to support individuals facing challenges related to housing, education, health, and entrepreneurship.

Despite increasing pressure on the state’s infrastructure due to a growing population, Governor Sanwo-Olu remains focused on improving the lives of Lagos residents, especially during times of economic reform.
“We understand the challenges the residents face, and we are here to assist them that is why we continue to give out financial assistance to struggling Lagos residents.
The programme is about empowerment and ensuring that every resident has access to the resources they need to thrive in Lagos”, he added.
In addition to providing financial assistance through the Sanwo-Olu Listen Financial Assistance Programme, the Lagos State Government has been actively engaged in sensitization and advocacy efforts across all Senatorial Districts.
According Dr. Tajudeen, these initiatives aim to inform residents about government programs and policies and encourage active participation in civic affairs.
In his words, “We are also leveraging the Citizens Gate App, a platform that promotes an inclusive society. This digital platform allows residents of Lagos to report issues which are later resolved by the relevant authorities, we have a team of resolvers available to address concerns efficiently and effectively”.

Also, In an effort to increase voter awareness and participation in the upcoming local government elections, the Lagos State Government has collaborated with the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to provide voter education across the state.
This initiative, led by the Office of the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative & Civic Engagement, aims to inform residents about their voting rights, address voter apathy, and guide them through the process of obtaining their permanent voter’s card.
By partnering with agencies like LASIEC, the government seeks to create a more informed and engaged electorate, ultimately leading to a stronger democratic process.
Dr. Tajudeen urged Lagos residents to take advantage of the various programs and policies designed to improve their quality of life and create new opportunities.
