These included 922 fire outbreaks, two minor explosions, 10 building collapses (eight of which were partial), 73 rescue operations, and 65 salvage efforts. The report also recorded 315 false emergency calls, highlighting the ongoing issue of prank or non-urgent alerts.
During this time, the service successfully rescued 252 people from life-threatening situations such as fires and structural collapses. However, 62 fatalities were reported.
The LSFRS’s quick and effective responses played a major role in protecting lives and property across the state.
An estimated ₦64.32 billion worth of property was saved, while losses amounted to approximately ₦10.72 billion.

Margaret Adeseye, Director of the LSFRS, stated that the data reflects the agency’s impact on reducing loss, protecting the environment, and contributing to economic stability across Lagos. She also noted that the service is actively engaging stakeholders to tackle the issue of fire outbreaks more effectively.
These efforts are expected to intensify at the upcoming Y2025 International Fire Safety Conference 2.0, where collaborative strategies for improving fire safety and emergency response will be further explored.
