Lagos Govt Deploys RRS, Task Force Ahead Of August Protests (Photos)

Lagos State has deployed Rapid Response Squad and Task Force officers to patrol the streets in anticipation of nationwide hunger and hardship protests scheduled for August 1-10.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Government has deployed officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Task Force to patrol the streets in anticipation of the nationwide hunger and hardship protests scheduled for August 1-10.

Security operatives were observed conducting patrol exercises on Wednesday across various streets in the state.

According to Channels TV, the patrol began from Alausa, Ikeja, and extended through the old Tollgate, Ojota, Ogudu, and Iyana Oworo to the 3rd Mainland Bridge area.

Additionally, officers were reportedly seen marching through Lekki streets towards the Lekki Tollgate area.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has urged Nigerians to reconsider the planned nationwide protest set for Thursday, August 1.

This appeal was made on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, during a press conference in Abuja attended by key government officials.

Akume emphasized that protests are not the solution to the country’s challenges, which the government is actively working to address.

To achieve this goal, Akume highlighted the importance of peace and stability, as these are crucial for building trust, fostering cooperation, and achieving shared objectives.
