Lagos Seeks Collaboration With FG to Boost Industrial Growth

- The Lagos Governor pointed out that working together can create a favorable environment for industrial development, ultimately benefiting the nation’s economy.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, emphasized the importance of collaboration between state and federal governments in fostering the growth of industries nationwide, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking through Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat during a courtesy call with Senator John Enoh, Hon. Minister of State for Industry, Sanwo-Olu highlighted that such partnerships are essential for driving economic growth and prosperity.

The Governor pointed out that working together can create a favorable environment for industrial development, ultimately benefiting the nation’s economy.
According to the Governor, “As a government, we must continue to work together to create an enabling environment for the industry and stop the recent trend of industries relocating to other climes due to lack of government intervention, because the authorities are not aware of the industry challenges”.
Gov Sanwo-Olu called for a renewed approach to fostering relationships between the government and the business industry.
Highlighting the departure of Unilever due to perceived lack of government support, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need to address challenges faced by business owners in the state.
The Governor shared his administration’s proactive efforts to tackle these challenges through the “BOS Meet Business” initiative, which aims to facilitate dialogue and identify viable solutions.
He acknowledged that some issues require collaboration with federal government agencies for effective resolution.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for establishing a ministry dedicated to interfacing with the industry and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
Earlier, Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of State for Industry in the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, revealed that his team was on an Industrial Tour in Lagos to gain firsthand insight into the constraints and challenges faced by industries in the country.
His words, “This proactive approach will enable the government to create a more favourable business environment, driving economic prosperity and benefiting the nation as a whole”.
