In an ongoing effort to clear illegal structures and restore public order, the Lagos State Government has issued a 72-hour eviction notice to illegal traders and squatters occupying setbacks from POWA Gate to Dolphin Gate in Lagos Island, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, announced the eviction on his official social media account (X), emphasizing the importance of sanitation and environmental cleanliness in the area.
Accompanying video footage showcased the bustling commercial activities along the corridor, with traders displaying goods and wheelbarrow pushers navigating the crowded space.
This latest action forms part of a broader enforcement drive by the Lagos State Government to reclaim public spaces and enforce urban regulations, following similar operations targeting unauthorized structures in setbacks, roadways, and drainage paths across the city.
