Lagos State Police Command Apprehends Suspected Cultists And Recovers Stolen AK47

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Police Command has successfully arrested suspected cultists believed to be responsible for a series of killings in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, revealed this while parading over twenty suspected criminals at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

The CP disclosed that the police apprehended Toheeb Oyekunle, Victor Jimoh, Samuel Okanlawon, Segun Babatunde, Pelumi Ajuloye, Mohammed Ibrahim, and Bello Ahmed in connection with an invasion in Iju Ishaga, where they allegedly snatched an AK47 rifle from a police officer.

The suspects confessed to the crime and other criminal activities in Lagos and its environs. The police recovered a cut-to-size AK47 from them.

Additionally, the CP announced the arrest of Christian Obadiah and Opeyemi Khadiri, wanted cultists involved in several cult-related killings in Ijora Badia and its environs. The arrests took place in their hideout in Ibeju Lekki.

A total of 34 suspects were paraded for various crimes, including cultism, murder, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms.

Among the items recovered were a toy pistol, 72 live cartridges, 75 live ammunition, one expended cartridge, one pistol magazine, six axes, four daggers, five cutlasses, two vehicles, one Point of Sale machine, fake vehicle registration plates, and various charms.

In a separate incident on January 11, 2024, the police apprehended a 25-year-old man, Idowu Yunusa, who was observed allegedly attacking and attempting to rob a bystander in Igando around 9:30 am.
