LASG Broadcast Station Union Begins Strike Tomorrow

- Labour Union intends to compel the government to integrate their members into the mainstream civil service
Broadcasting labour unions in Lagos State have announced their intention to go on strike starting January 13, 2025, in an effort to compel the government to integrate their members into the mainstream civil service.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the decision follows a meeting on January 8, 2025, between government representatives led by the Commissioner for Establishments and Training,Mr Afolabi Ayantayo and union leaders from Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) and Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria. ( RATTAWU).

The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the unions’ demands for their members to be absorbed into the civil service, a matter that was agreed to be presented to the Lagos State Executive Council for consideration.
