The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District 1, Barrister Margaret Titilayo Solarin has called for increased attention to technical education in Lagos Schools.
The TG/PS made the call recently during a quiz competing organized by Teachers of Basic Technology and Allied Subjects for students of government and private secondary schools.
Mrs. Solarin, who spoke through the District Director, Schools Administration, Mr. Oluyemi Adeshina, said that the competition was aimed towards instilling the love for technology in the minds of the students.
She added that it was important to let students realise early enough the roles which technology plays in the society as a whole so that they can be better guided in choosing their life career.
The quiz competition, according to her, does not only provide a platform for the students to exhibit their technical knowledge but will also expose them to the viability of technology and its ability to make the world a better place.
The TG/PS specifically appreciated the State government for the concentration being paid to education and technology under its T.H.E.M.E.S agenda.
