LASTVEB Organises Orientation Programmes For New Entrants
The Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) today held orientation programmes for new entrants into Technical Colleges in Lagos State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Executive Secretary of LASTVEB, Ms Moronke Azeez in her address at the event congratulated the students for being among the successful applicants admitted to the colleges, adding that they should maximise the opportunity to learn and acquire new knowledge.

Azeez, represented at the event by the Director of Curriculum and Examinations, Mrs. Bunmi Bada, explained that the new students, labelled as “Tech One Students”, are to spend three years of intensive training in technical and vocational studies to acquire specific skills before graduation.
“I will advise you as Tech One Students to continue to improve yourselves in every area technically, conduct research and engage in personal development to be skilled technicians and middle-level manpower to meet the needs of Lagos and beyond”, she stated.
Speaking further, the Executive Secretary said that there are three broad categories of trades which students must choose from, listing them as Construction, Engineering and Creative/Business Trades, stressing that successful candidates will receive certification for employment at the end of the three-year programme.
On her part, the Director of Counseling, Government Technical College, Agidingbi, Mrs. Olubunmi Oladiran, admonished the new intakes to report any act of violence to the counselling office for proper resolution.

She also implored them to shun all acts of truancy, absenteeism and disobedience to school authorities in order to achieve the desired success at the end of the programme.
The orientation programmes for all Technical Colleges in Lagos State were held simultaneously in the five Government Technical Colleges in Ikotun, Ikorodu, Agidingbi, Epe and Badagry for about 4000 newly admitted students.
