The National Assembly has postponed its resumption from January 28 to February 4.
This was announced in separate statements by the Clerks of the Senate and the House of Representatives in Abuja.

In an internal memo dated January 24, 2025, titled “Change in Resumption Date,” the Clerk of the Senate, Andrew Nwoba, informed all senators that the resumption date had been moved from Tuesday, January 28, 2025, to Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The change was attributed to the ongoing budget defence sessions.

Similarly, the House of Representatives issued a statement through its spokesperson, Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., announcing that the House would also resume on February 4 instead of January 28. According to an internal memo from the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the decision was made under the directive of the House Leadership to give committees more time to conclude budget discussions with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
