The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Anomo, has expressed grief over the death of one of the leading members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council area, Chief Gabriel Agbabiaka, popularly known as “Base ma se ni yen.”

Eko Hot Blog reports that Anomo described the death of the APC chieftain as a painful loss, saying the news came to him as a rude shock at a time when the late elder’s wisdom, experience and guidance were needed in advancing the development of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The council chairman described Chief Agbabiaka as more than a political associate, noting that he was a trusted elder, staunch supporter and adviser whose counsel and commitment to the collective aspirations of the people he deeply valued.
According to Anomo, the deceased was a reformer, nation builder and dedicated party man who remained committed to the progress of the APC and the development of his community.
“Chief Agbabiaka was more than a party leader to me. He was one of my staunch supporters, a trusted elder and a man whose counsel, commitment and unwavering belief in our collective aspirations I deeply valued,” Anomo said.
He noted that the late APC chieftain’s contributions to Ejinrin, APC Ward Q1 and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA would remain indelible, describing his life as one of meaningful impact and service.
Anomo said the respect and affection enjoyed by Chief Agbabiaka among those who knew him reflected the legacy he left behind.
While mourning the loss, the council chairman said the family, political associates and community could draw comfort from the fact that the deceased lived an impactful life and left enduring footprints.
On behalf of his family, the Executive Cabinet, Legislators, Management and the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Anomo extended his condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, friends, political associates, the people of Ejinrin, APC Ward Q1 and members of the APC.
He prayed that Almighty God would accept the deceased’s return and grant his family, friends, political associates, party leaders and the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
“Baba mi, ‘Base ma se ni yen.’ Your voice may have gone silent, but your counsel, your contributions and your legacy will continue to speak,” Anomo said.
