Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking at the commissioning, DG Lion Mary Onu said the initiative was aimed at contributing meaningfully to the education sector in Epe and promoting academic excellence.
“The desks we renovated and handed over today are meant to make learning more comfortable for students.
This is one of many humanitarian services carried out by Lions Club, and we are committed to making life better for the less privileged in society,” she said.

The District Governor commended the facilitators of the project, describing them as “intending Lions of Epe” who are already driving efforts to establish the first Lions Club in the division.
“I want to sincerely commend you, our intending Lions, for making this project a reality because without you, it would not have been achieved. I also thank the school principal, Mr. Pasheda Olufemi Bamidele, for his support toward the success of this project.
Lastly, I appreciate all Lions present here today, including those from Ikorodu and Ijebu-Ode, because our district covers parts of Lagos and Ogun States,” she stated.
Hon. Balogun Moshood Ademola and Engr. Ayobami Salami, who were among the facilitators, lauded the gesture, noting that it was an eye-opener for well-meaning individuals in Epe to join the club.
“This project has shown the importance of service to humanity. We promise to establish Epe Lions Club soon and ensure more initiatives like this are delivered,” they said, while urging students to maintain the desks properly.
