Firmino joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim for a fee of £29 million ($35m) in 2015 and has since made a significant contribution to the club’s success during his tenure. He has played in 353 matches, scoring 107 goals and providing 78 assists.
Additionally, he has set a record as the Brazilian player with the most goals (78) in the Premier League.
Despite scoring nine goals for Liverpool this season, Firmino has been facing challenges with regard to a guaranteed starting position in the team.
However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had expressed his desire to retain the services of the hard-working 31-year-old.
During his time at Anfield, Firmino formed a formidable partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, which helped Liverpool win seven trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield.
With his contract set to expire, Firmino will now be free to explore offers from other clubs, including those outside England, who have been able to speak with him since January.
The departure of Firmino will undoubtedly be a significant loss to Liverpool, who will be looking for ways to replace his contributions to the team.
However, the Brazilian will leave Liverpool with an impressive record and a legacy that will be remembered by fans for years to come.
