1. Adelabu congratulates Makinde on re-election
The Oyo State Accord Party governorship candidate, Adebayo Adelabu, has congratulated his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his re-election.
A statement by the Accord Party’s candidate, on his verified Twitter page, said the victory was a call to do more and serve the people diligently.
Adelabu wrote, “Election has come and gone, and we should all go back to our normal daily lives like I always say. It is my strong belief that election should not be a do-or-die affair, as God changes times and seasons, he enthrones and dethrones kings according to his wish. God’s time is the best.
2. INEC to review results from Abia LG
The Independent National Electoral Commission has said it would review results from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State following the invasion of a collation centre by thugs.
This was made known this evening by the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, at a press briefing on the ongoing collation of the governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Abuja.
In his speech, Okoye said, “Earlier today, the commission alerted the nation to the invasion of our Obingwa Local Government Area office in Abia state by thugs during the collation of the governorship and state assembly elections.
3. INEC declares Ogun Speaker polling unit election inconclusive
The election at the polling unit of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo Constituency 1 has been declared inconclusive.
The returning officer of the election, Prof. Olusegun Onabanjo, said Oluomo, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, had a total of 7,379 votes while his closest rival, Ogundele Okikiola of the Peoples Democratic Party, polled 6411, and Wemimo Owolabi of the African Democratic Congress polled 3207 votes
The returning officer said, “Due to over-voting observed in unit 04 of ward one, the election is hereby declared inconclusive.”
The affected polling unit is the unit of the state Chairman of the PDP, Sikirulah Ogundele, whose son, Okikiola, is also the PDP candidate for the constituency.

4. A’Ibom gov-elect Eno, dedicates victory to God
THE Akwa Ibom State governor-elect , Pastor Umo Eno of the People’s Democratic Party PDP has dedicated his victory to God for for the Grace He has shown him, and for the strength to carry on in the face of several challenges.
Pastor Eno who stated this in his victory speech made available to newsmen shortly after he was declared winner of the election on Sunday by the electoral umpire, reiterated that he would not disappoint his political father, Governor Udom Emmanuel and Akwa Ibom people.
He added that the leaders and stakeholders of his party the PDP, as well as his campaign team deserved a huge pat on the back for staying true to their convictions and their unyielding dedication to the party’s victory at the polls.
5. Chimaroke Nnamani loses Senatorial seat to Labour Party in Enugu
Former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has lost his reelection bid in Enugu East Senatorial district to Labour Party candidate, Sir Kelvin Chukwu.
The LP candidate polled 69, 136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 48, 701 votes.
Kelvin replaced his brother, Oyibo Chukwu, who was murdered a few days before the Feb. 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Sir Kelvin Chukwu is the younger brother of Oyibo Chukwu who was murdered days before the 2023 Presidential election.
6. 2023 elections have proven PVC is useless in Nigeria — Apostle Suleiman
Nigerian clergyman and President of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman said the 2023 elections has proven that Permnent Voter’s Card (PVC) is useless in Nigeria.
The clergyman stated this while speaking in a recent sermon on Sunday.
According to Suleman, the PVC is useless because the election was not conducted in the right way of democracy.
Suleman said political leaders are enforced on Nigerians after the stress citizens pass through in getting their PVCs ready.

8. PDP wins 13, APC nine seats in Edo Assembly
he ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo has won 13 out of the 24 Assembly seats.
But the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in nine constituencies while Labour Party (LP) has two seats.

The Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mrs Pauline Ugochi Onyeka has called for immediate review of the results emanating from Ishielu Local Government Area.
According to Ugochi, the reason for the review of Ishielu election results was due to complaints that the result sheets were tampered with by some persons.
She said, “They complained about the result sheets. We gave them replacement result sheets and they are still finding it difficult to get us right. We are of the opinion that the Sdmin Secretary and the Review Committee should look into it.
