1. Kaduna: Soldiers kill notorious terrorist commander
Troops have killed a notorious terrorist commander, ‘Dogo Maikasuwa’ in a forest at the Gengere-Kaso general area, around the Chikun and Kajuru boundaries in Kaduna State.
Dogo Maikasuwa, it was gathered led a series of deadly operations in the Chikun and Kajuru Local Government Areas of the state, worst hit by terrorist activities over the years.
The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who disclosed this on Friday, said the notorious terrorist commander and his foot soldiers ran into an ambush laid by the troops where he met his end.
According to the commissioner, scores of Dogo Maikasuwa’s foot soldiers escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds.
2. Police confirm murder of sex worker in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old murder suspect, Emmanuel Ujedibe, for killing a sex worker in a hotel room in Asaba, the state capital.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ali, disclosed this, on Friday, while parading the suspect along others at the police headquarters in Asaba.
He said, “The police were called to the scene of the crime on November 4, 2022 by the management of the hotel after the suspect fled for committing the crime.
“We learnt that he took the girl, who happened to be a sex worker, by the name, Peace into the hotel and later killed her and set the room on fire.
3. Portugal friendly: Peseiro drops Musa, names Osayi-Samuel, Onyemaechi
Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has left out captain Ahmed Musa and Queens Park Rangers’ defender Leon Balogun from the squad to face Portugal in a friendly encounter in Lisbon next Thursday but named vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in a 23-man squad.
The encounter at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon will kick off at 7.45pm.
Peseiro recalled the quartet Paul Onuachu, Tyronne Ebuehi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Joe Aribo while handing debut call-ups to Boavista defender Bruno Onyemaechi and Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel.

4. I’ll get rid of exploitation in mining to boost economic development – Tinubu
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has said if elected president, his government will tackle the bottlenecks in the mining sector, including the challenge of illegal mining.
Tinubu made this promise at a strategic town hall on mining and security in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital on Thursday.
He addressed stakeholders in the mining sector, assuring of the focus of his administration on finding solutions to the problems confronting the nation.
Tinubu said, “I promise you, we will dismantle all bottlenecks, all blockades, illegal mining, and exploitation that doesn’t bring profit to Nigeria. I promise you, we will have an accelerated economic development programme to make you alive, and your children benefit from the prosperity that is coming to you,” the former Lagos State governor said
5. Gunmen kill vigilante member, four others in Benue community
A vigilante member and four others have been reportedly killed by armed men suspected to be loyalists of the late militia leader, Terwase Agwaza alias Gana, in a bar at Pevya community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
It was gathered that the armed men tailed the vigilante member and other victims to the bar where they gunned them down, injuring several others as well.
According to a source in the area who spoke on condition of anonymity, the attack which happened on Wednesday evening created pandemonium in the community as people scampered and fled their homes for fear of being killed.
6. 2023: PDP asks court to sack Sanwo-Olu, 40 others as APC candidates
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, praying it to nullify the nomination of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State as gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2023 elections.
PDP, in its suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1972/22, equally applied for an order, invalidating the nomination of 40 Lagos State House of Assembly candidates over the late submission of their nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The plaintiff maintained that Sections 29 and 30(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022, made it mandatory for political parties, including the 2nd defendant (APC), to submit nomination forms of candidates it intend to sponsor for elections, to the 1st defendant (INEC), not later than 180 days to the conduct of the election.

7. Court disqualifies 16 Rivers APC Assembly candidates
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has disqualified 16 House of Assembly candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State from contesting the 2023 election.
The trial judge, Justice Mohammed Adamu, ruled that the primary elections that produced them did not comply with the new electoral Act.
The judgement came a few weeks after another Federal High Court held that the APC in the State had no valid candidates for the forthcoming poll.
8. Appeal Court reserves judgment in appeal against Oyetola’s sack as candidate
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgement in the two appeals by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the last governorship election in Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola.
A three-member panel of the court took the decision on Friday after entertaining arguments from lawyers to parties.
The APC and Oyetola are among others, praying the appellate court to set aside the September 30, 2022 judgment by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

9. CBN Governor, Emefiele’s policies bringing APC to disrepute – Tinubu Support Group
The South South Agenda for Tinubu/Shettima (SSAT) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to audit the accounts of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
It said the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele should be suspended from office to enable the board of the Bank, of which the Governor is Chairman, as well as the Financial Reporting Council, to look into the books of the Bank unhindered.
It claimed that the monetary policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria in recent times were bringing the ruling APC to disrepute.
In a press statement through their National Coordinator, Mr. Bitrus Nta Oliver, the group threatened to commence legal action against President Buhari and the Senate if they failed to do the needful.
10. Ogun: Abiodun declares war against kidnappers on Lagos-Ibadan highway
Governor Dapo Abiodun has threatened to wage war against kidnappers terrorising residents of Ogun State.
This is as the government assured residents and commuters passing through Ogun State of adequate security before, during and after the Yuletide.
The Ogun State Government said efforts would be intensified towards giving more support to the security agencies as a way of ridding the State corridor of the popular Lagos-Ibadan highway of kidnappers and other armed gangs.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that gunmen who are usually dressed in military uniforms have taken over the Lagos-Ibadan road, kidnapping travellers for ransom.
In the same vein, it was also reported that some areas in Abeokuta North Local Government have been kept under siege by kidnappers as residents plan relocation.
