1. Court orders arrest of Ondo monarchs’ impostors
The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State on Friday issued warrants of arrest and directed the state Commissioner of Police to produce in court two suspects who have been parading themselves as Oba in Irele and Igodan Lisa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, who are Adeyemi Akinde and Ademola Idowu Oloworibiyi, were said to have been parading themselves as traditional rulers in the two communities
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Kola Adeniyi, on Friday.
According to the statement, the order of the court was made sequel to the application of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ondo State, Mr. Charles Titiloye.
2. Gas leaks rock Rivers community, residents flee
Gas leaks from an oil company facility have rocked Sangama Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The facility where the leak was spotted was said to have previously been operated by an oil firm but was later transferred to a different firm, probably the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited.
Sources in the community said the gas leaks were first noticed last last week, saying it had been diffusing ceaselessly, thereby causing panic in the Island community.
3. Tinubu is real unifier, Keyamo mocks Atiku, PDP
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment and spokesperson for the presidential campaign organisation of the All Progressives Congress, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has teased the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, over the crisis rocking the opposition party.
The PDP candidate has always referred to himself as the unifier who will unify the country if elected as the president, but Keyamo seems to have disagreed with him.
Taking to his Twitter page on Friday, the Minister referred to the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as the real unifier, saying that the PDP should beg them to lend Tinubu to them so he can unify their party.

4. King Charles pledges love for Harry, Meghan in first address as monarch
King Charles III on Friday pledged to show affection for his son, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan.
The King made this known during his first address as the British monarch, assuming the throne of his late mother who passed away on Thursday.
King Charles III said, expressed his “love for Harry and Meghan” in the address to Britain and his Commonwealth realms.
“I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas,” the king said of his son and daughter-in-law, despite their rift with the royal family.
5. There are better ways to honour the Queen, Crouch slams PL for postponing matches
Former England International, Peter Crouch has disapproved of the decision from the Premier League to postpone EPL matches for this weekend in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Premier League, through its Executive, Richard Masters had announced on Friday the postponement of all games billed for the weekend in tribute to the passing of the late monarch.
Masters said, “The Premier We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s long and unwavering service to our country.
6. PDP hiding behind propaganda — Kogi govt
Reacting to the PDP’s allegation, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, said: “We have responded to this and we have moved on. We won’t respond to all the frivolous propaganda of the opposition because we know they want to see a storm in a tea cup.
“Governor Yahaya Bello is against crime and criminality and won’t subscribe to any sort of violence. It is too early for the opposition parties to give up already and hide behind mere propaganda.
“As a Government, we will deal with any situation that threatens the peace and security of our people.
“PDP can issue as many statements as they would want to. It is not a problem. The Governor didn’t threaten anyone and sure doesn’t need to threaten anyone.

7. IPOB hails Abia community for suspending prison project
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended the people of Uzuakoli community in Abia State for adhering to call to reverse the process of ceding its ancestral land for the purported Federal Prison/RUGA project.
The group also praised members of the community mentioned in its press release a couple of days ago as facilitators and agents for the project for ensuring it was aborted.
In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, IPOB advised other communities to emulate Uzuakoli, pledging continued monitoring of communities, group or individuals indulging in such deceptive acts.
It also advised communities in the zone to abide by its policy of “No land to Nigeria Government”, stressing that those who might neglect the advice would have themselves to blame.
8. Rapper Ice Prince released on bail
Embattled music rapper, Panshak Zamani, a.k.a Ice Prince, accused of allegedly assaulting a police officer in Lagos, has been granted bail.
His lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida said Ice Prince was released from the Nigerian correctional centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday.
“His bail conditions have been met, and he was released yesterday (Thursday),” he said.
Magistrate T.F. Oyeniyi of Ajah Magistrate Court 1 had set bail conditions for the rapper at N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

9. APC govt committed to Buhari’s December deadline against terrorists – Lawan
Senate President Ahmad Lawan said the All Progressives Congress (APC) government is working to degrade terrorists and other criminals by December.
Lawan gave the assurance on Friday while declaring open a National Policy Dialogue on Corruption and Insecurity.
The dialogue was organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Lawan praised the Nigerian military for neutralising terrorists in Kaduna, Niger, Zamfara and other states.
10. 2023 elections: Somebody in presidency backing Atiku – Wike
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that an individual in Nigeria’s presidency is supporting Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2023 elections.
The former vice president is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike lost the ticket to him in May and continues to insist that the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, step down.
In his remarks at the Ahoada Campus of the Rivers State University, he said the party’s flagbearer and the chairman should be from the North.
