1. Fitch report: Atiku’s camp faults victory prediction for Tinubu
The Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation has faulted a report by Fitch Ratings that predicted victory for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 presidential election.
The campaign organisation, in a statement by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Saturday, dismissed the report as “merely contrived, imaginary and completely illusory.”
It said the report did not reflect the reality on the ground, claiming that the APC candidate did not stand a chance before the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
2. I can stop Ortom, others from contesting – Ayu
Reprieve seems not to be in sight between the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu and Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom as the former said he has the power to stop Ortom from realising his senatorial ambition on the platform of the party.
The duo who hail from Benue North West senatorial district engaged have had a disagreement shortly after the party presidential primary election that produced Abubakar Atiku as the party’s standard bearer against Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who was the choice of some governors including Ortom.
Since then, Wike alongside his counterparts in Benue, Oyo, Abia and Enugu has repeatedly called for the resignation of Senator Iyorchia Ayu as the party chairman as the only panacea to restore peace to the main opposition party.
The Ayu/Ortom feud which has split the party in Benue State is threatening the senatorial ambition of the governor with Ayu kinsmen in the Jemgbah axis accusing the governor of teaming up with others to pull down their son from his exalted office.

Social activist, Aisha Yesufu, has said that she will hold the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, accountable if he emerges in the 2023 presidential election.
The PUNCH reports that the presidential campaign of the Labour Party’s standard bearer, Peter Obi, has commenced in Nasarawa State.
Present with Obi on the campaign ground are his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Yesufu, and the LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, among other party chieftains.

4. FG supports Katsina with N3bn to construct N4bn faculty buildings at state university
Federal Government supported Katsina State with N3 billion to construct the Faculty of Agriculture buildings at the state-owned university, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), at Layin Minista in Malumfashi Local Government Area.
UMYU’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Sunusi Mamman, disclosed this to newsmen on Saturday in Katsina.
He said Gov. Aminu Masari solicited for N3 billion from the Federal Government through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and that the state government added N1billion to execute the project.
Mamman commended Masari for sourcing the fund from the Federal Government and for releasing the N1 billion counterpart fund for the project
5. My 2nd term ‘ll focus on delivery of sustainable development – Makinde
Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says he is seeking re-election for a second term in office to ensure a sustainable development of the state.
Makinde said his desire to run again followed an accelerated development of the state by his administration in the last three and half years.
The governor made this assertions during a live interview session on a Radio programme, Political Circuit, saying that his performance as the state governor within the period, had justified his re-election bid.
According to him, I deserved to be elected again by the people of the state, with the achievements recorded by my administration across the four service point areas of education, security, health and economic expansion through agribusiness and infrastructure.

Mr Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 election said in Lafia on Saturday that he would tackle unemployment and insecurity if voted into power.
