1. You’re a professor do better, Obi slams Soludo
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has told the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to do better than he did while he governed the state.
Obi, while reacting to recent bashing he had received for Soludo said since he (Soludo) is a professor he should be able to do better in governing Anambra State
Obi said this on Tuesday at the 2022 Lagos Business School Alumni Conference, in Lagos.
Soludo had recently called out Obi saying his investments in Anambra was next to nothing and on Monday he added that Obi would not win the presidential race come 2023.
2. One shot as police, robbers clash in Anambra
A combined team of police and vigilante operatives in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Tuesday busted a four-man robbery gang terrorising the community.
The security operatives’ efforts yielded result when they caught the robbers sharing their loot after an operation carried out at Atta road, Nkpor community in Idemili LGA.
It was gathered that the suspects, after their robbery operation at Atta Road, went to share their loot at an uncompleted building in the area before the security operatives swooped on them.
An eyewitness in the area said immediately the robbers saw the security operatives, they fired gunshots at them, which led to a gun battle between both parties.
3. Algeria shuts TV station for broadcasting sex scene
Algerian authorities have ordered the closure of a private television station for broadcasting scenes deemed “offensive,” the official APS agency said.
The Audio-visual Regulation Authority “has decided to definitively close the El Adjwaa channel,” APS reported late Monday.
The decision came after the channel broadcast an American film including sexually explicit scenes between a near-naked man and woman on Sunday night.
Outraged internet users shared images of the scenes widely on social media.

4. Buhari orders security to fish out killers of Imo monarch
President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned what he described the heinous killing of Eze Ignitus Asor, the traditional ruler of the Obudi-Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, and others.
The President in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, directed security agencies in the State to thoroughly investigate the dastardly act and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
While commiserating with family, friends, the Obudi-Agwa community, as well as all those affected by the attacks, the President prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
President Buhari said he acknowledged the spirited efforts by the Imo State Government at improving the security situation and encouraged all Imo residents and citizens to robustly support the collective efforts of state actors and members of the local community to keep everyone safe.
5. Senate Probes budgeting System of NACA
THE Senate has begun probe into the 2021 and 2022 budgeting system used by the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) in preparing its annual budget.
The Senate has expressed displeasure over the discrepancies in the budgeting system of the agency, saying that putting recurrent items under capital budget was a misnomer.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja when the Director-General NACA, Gambo Aliyu appeared before the Senator Ishaku Abbo, Adamawa led Senate Committee on Primary Health Care and Communicable Diseases to defend 2023 budget defence, Abbo said: “The fact that things have gone wrong for 100 years doesn’t make it to be right. We must change how things are done.
“How can a board meeting be captured as a capital project.
6. Tinubu promises to create opportunities for youths
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Sen. Ahmed Tinubu, has promised to create opportunities for youths to achieve their potential if elected president in 2023.
Tinubu stated this at the flag off of APC presidential campaign on Tuesday in Jos.
The presidential candidate said that he was aware of the challenges youths were encountering but they would become a thing of the when he becomes president.
“To the youth, we make a promise that today may be difficult but we will not let you down because you are our children and brothers.

Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has hailed Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike for his massive projects in the State.

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to progressive good governance that will yield dividends for the masses.
He made the pledge on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State during the flag-off of his nationwide presidential campaign.
The former Lagos Governor assured Nigerians that, unlike other parties either dwelling on a fruitless past or a tomorrow of fantasies, his administration hopes to chart the course of progress already started by the Buhari administration.
Addressing a large crowd of party faithful and supporters from all over the country, Tinubu said: “We hereby reaffirm our commitment to progressive good governance and to the fruits that such governance can bring to this nation.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has mocked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Tinubu described Atiku as a wrong theory while PDP was a dead party which should be rejected during the 2023 elections.
He spoke at the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
He said: “One of them, I don’t want to call their names. Is it Atiku? Atilukated what? Wrong theory. Mark it down. Wrong theory for Atiku.
“They want to come back. Tell them that a dead fish cannot be sweet in any soup.”
10. Assemblies of God Nigeria set to elect new GS, retires Ejim, Treasurer
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, Rev. Pastor Ejikeme Ejim bowed out of service on Tuesday.
The GS retired alongside the Church’s Treasurer, Rev. Dr. Vincent Alaje.
