Man Takes Own Life After Selling Same Plot of Land to Three Buyers
- A man from Ayihe village, Benue State, reportedly took his life after selling the same plot of land to three different buyers.
- The incident occurred after community leaders confronted him about the fraudulent land transaction.
- The man was found dead at home after ingesting a poisonous substance, believed to be snipper.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the deceased is believed to have ingested a poisonous substance, suspected to be snipper, to end his life.
According to a source from the community who wished to remain anonymous, Ayihe took his life on Wednesday evening after being asked by community leaders to explain how he had sold the same piece of family land to three different buyers.

The source explained, “When it was discovered that he had sold the land to multiple buyers, the matter was reported to the Kindred Head by those who were deceived into purchasing it. He was summoned to a meeting with the buyers and the Kindred Head to address the issue. However, he left the meeting, claiming he needed to retrieve something from his house.”
“Instead, he went to a provision store to buy poisonous chemicals, believed to be snippers, which he took home and consumed after turning off his phone. After waiting for over an hour with no sign of him, others were sent to bring him back.

When they arrived at his house, they found him motionless, with empty bottles of the chemical scattered around. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.”
Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident, stating, “Our operatives have been sent to investigate what happened.”
