When poor football match results keep trickling in, a coach is almost aware of facing the heavy axe of getting sacked. Bad results, especially in football always lead to a sack. In reality, no coach is ever sacked for doing well.
The case of Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is that which fans and football pundits across borders have predicted to happen soon. This is as a result of poor performances by his team which in turn, are ramping in poor results. The lastest is a 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in a Champions League match. Istanbul Basaksehir have never won a match in the Champions League prior to meeting Manchester United.
According to reports, Manchester United have approached former Tottenham Hotspur’s coach, Mauricio Pochettino with a view to him replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s next manager.
That although the club is reluctant to sack Solskjaer as the season hasn’t gone far, there is an acceptance within the club’s hierarchy that they need to line up a replacement.
Different reactions have continued to trail this latest reports as fans begin to cast their doubt if the man reported to be replacing Solskjaer is the right person.
Other feel that the Mauricio Pochettino is loved by the club’s top executives which will make signing him even simpler.
On more lighter note, others feel that since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson retired as the club’s manager, nobody will be able to solve the club’s issues until it is been run as a football club.
