Bamiloye acknowledged the difficulty for Adeboye to publicly admit his mistake regarding past teachings on tithing.
Pastor Adeboye had previously stated that those who do not pay tithes would not make it to heaven, a claim he now recognizes as erroneous, clarifying that such a statement is not supported by Scripture. He emphasized that peaceful and holy living are the true prerequisites for entering heaven.

In his reaction, Bamiloye stated: “Daddy E.A. Adeboye made a statement and the Lord corrected him before he publicly acknowledged his mistake, following God’s instruction.
“You may think it’s easy for a man of his global stature to come forward and apologize if God had not guided him in private. Only someone with a focus on heaven and eternity would deem it important to do so.
“Feel free to mock him or criticize him for doing what the Lord directed him to do. Baba has his eyes on heaven, which is why he is unconcerned with earthly honors or human pride.
“It takes humility for someone of such global prominence to publicly apologize. Only God could prompt such an action. After all, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).”
