According to the military, the operations were conducted on June 12 as part of ongoing efforts to rid Zamfara State of banditry and other criminal activities.
The statement revealed that troops on a fighting patrol covering Birnin Saba, Yanbuki and Sabon Garin Daudawa communities in Zurmi Local Government Area encountered a group of terrorists in Yanbuki District. Following a gun battle, one of the suspects was killed while others fled the scene.
Items recovered during the operation included rifles, four loaded magazines, two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, two MP3 players, a woodland camouflage trouser and an inner vest.
The troops later advanced to Sabon Garin Daudawa, where the fleeing terrorists reportedly abandoned their hideout before the soldiers arrived. The camp was subsequently cleared and destroyed.
In another operation along the Shinkafi-Moriki axis, troops laid an ambush for suspected terrorists, resulting in the death of one suspect.

Recovered items from the operation included an AK-47 rifle, five magazines, a Baofeng communication radio, two motorcycles and several charms believed to have been used by the suspects.
The military also confirmed the rescue of three kidnapped victims during the operations. The victims are currently receiving care and support while arrangements are being made for their reunion with their families.
Reaffirming its commitment to restoring peace across Zamfara and the wider North-West region, the military urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information capable of aiding ongoing operations.
