Mixed Reactions As IGP Mentions Only 2 Regions In Nigeria That Have Critical Security Challenges
In less than a week of resuming office as the new acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Usman Baba, has been reported to identify the two major regions in Nigeria that need urgent security intervention.
Recall that, amidst the saga of the trip of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to London for medical reason, the former Inspector General of Police was replaced by a new one few days ago.
In order to show how competent and reliable he is, he is actively giving security updates in the country.
According to Usman Baba, there are critical security situations in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country.
He disclosed this on Friday in Abuja at the opening of a meeting with police strategic commanders in the zones.
He said the meeting was aimed at discussing security issues affecting the two regions of the country in order to resolve them.
He added that, after the meeting, the commanders will go back to their zones to implement the outcome of the meeting, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
