‘Monumental Loss’ — APC Announces Demise Of National Welfare Secretary

  • The deceased sought the governorship ticket again in 2019 after he joined the APC.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Friday Nwosu, has died.

The APC announced his demise in a tweet on Thursday night.

The ruling party did not reveal the cause of death but Eko Hot Blog gathered that Nwosu passed on at a hospital in the federal capital territory (FCT).

“Words are not enough to describe the monumental loss brought by the passing of the party’s National Welfare Secretary, Sir Friday Nwanozie Nwosu on the APC family. May his soul rest in peace,” the APC tweeted.

Nwosu was a governorship aspirant in Abia State on the platform of the APC in the build-up to the 2019 general election.

However, he lost the primary election to Uche Ogah, who ended up losing the general election to the incumbent governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

Before joining the APC, Nwosu contested the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket with the future governor pre-2015.
