The Lagos State Government charged Chrisland Schools, its principal, vice-principal, and two others in connection with the alleged electrocution of a 12-year-old student during inter-house sports.

Under cross-examination, Mrs. Adeniran stated that she was not aware of the effects of the drugs—nitrazepam and amitriptyline—prescribed for her daughter, emphasizing her mourning state.

The witness shared that her husband picked up their daughter from school when she fell ill, and they visited the hospital together, where the doctor noted her well-being.

She confirmed being informed at Agege Central Hospital of her daughter’s death, allegedly due to cardiac arrest, but denied knowledge of possible electrocution.

The defense counsel highlighted that the prescribed drugs were for panic disorder, anxiety, and depression, suggesting a potential fatal combination.

Mrs. Adeniran acknowledged her responsibility in administering the drugs but expressed ignorance regarding their effects.

The court adjourned until the next day for the continuation of cross-examination.
