He explained in a statement on Tuesday that the strikes were launched after credible intelligence, supported by surveillance and reconnaissance missions, confirmed the presence of terrorists operating from fortified hideouts and bunkers in the area.

NAF fighter jets subsequently hit the identified targets with precision-guided munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple fighters, and taking out key logistics facilities.
A follow-up assessment confirmed the effectiveness of the operation.
Ejodame noted that continued aerial offensives have weakened terrorist networks, leaving them increasingly vulnerable and forcing them into reactive movements.

Reacting to the development, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, praised the personnel involved and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-led operations until insurgent groups are fully dismantled.
He added that the NAF remains focused on safeguarding citizens and maintaining national security, while strictly observing operational rules to minimise civilian casualties.
The latest strike comes months after similar operations in the Azir and Musarram areas of Borno State, where more than 40 terrorists were reportedly killed.

In one of the earlier missions, intelligence had revealed plans by insurgents assembling in canoes to launch attacks around the Baga and Fish Dam axis.
NAF aircraft intercepted and engaged the group, disrupting their plans and restoring calm to affected communities.
All operations were conducted under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, with support from ground forces and local intelligence sources.\
