NAF Plane Targeting Terrorists, Kills 25 Civilians In Kaduna

The Jika da Kolo community in Yadin Kidandan, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, is grieving a tragic loss after claiming that over 25 people were killed in a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrike intended to target terrorists.

The incident, which occurred over the weekend, has sparked a significant controversy between the villagers and the military.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Local reports indicate that among the victims were 23 worshippers at a mosque and several individuals at a nearby market, allegedly killed during the operation.

However, the NAF has countered these claims, stating that the airstrike was executed based on credible intelligence about a terrorist enclave in the Yadi Forest, an area purportedly free of civilian structures such as mosques.

The Air Force asserts that the operation successfully neutralized several terrorists, rejecting the community’s reports of civilian casualties and denying the presence of a mosque in the targeted area. Abdullahi Ismail, a local councillor, acknowledged the incident and emphasized that Yadin Kidandan is a known danger zone due to frequent terrorist activities.

“The strike disfigured the bodies of most of those affected. We gathered and buried 23 mutilated bodies, including those of children,” Ismail stated.

NAF Kills Kaduna

A survivor, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the chaos, noting that the airstrike occurred around 2 PM, killing many farmers and market-goers near the mosque.

The villagers are now calling on the Federal and Kaduna State governments to investigate the incident, highlighting that many residents have nowhere else to go.

In response to the community’s claims, NAF spokesperson Group Captain Kabiru Ali stated that the airstrikes targeted a logistics base used by terrorists and that the area appeared uninhabited before the attack. Ali reiterated the NAF’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the region.
