NAFDAC Arrests Pharmacy MD for Selling Expired, Unregistered Drugs in Abuja

- NAFDAC sealed a pharmacy in Abuja’s Garki Area 11 for selling expired and unregistered drugs worth over ₦7 million.
- The pharmacy’s Managing Director and Superintendent Pharmacist were arrested during the raid, which uncovered expired “H-Pylori” test kits.
- The agency urged the public to report suspicious activities and remain vigilant when purchasing regulated products.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released on Saturday, NAFDAC announced the pharmacy, located at Onitsha Crescent, Area 11 – Garki, had been sealed for selling harmful products.

Following a tip-off, NAFDAC’s enforcement team conducted a raid, uncovering over seven million naira worth of expired items, including “H-Pylori” test kits, which posed a serious public health risk.
Despite attempts by pharmacy staff to monitor the operation, NAFDAC successfully confiscated the expired products and secured the premises.

Both the managing director and superintendent pharmacist were arrested for questioning, with NAFDAC promising stringent sanctions to deter such unethical practices.
The agency has urged the public to be vigilant when purchasing regulated products and report suspicious activities to their local offices.
