In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), NAFDAC announced that its officers discovered significant amounts of unregistered chemicals, expired products, and packaging materials intended for producing fake cosmetics at the site.
The operation resulted in the seizure of over 1,200 cartons of counterfeit goods. Concerns were raised as expired cosmetics were being revalidated for sale, posing serious risks to consumer safety.

Additionally, NAFDAC confiscated equipment used in the illegal production process, including mini-mixing containers, unlabelled chemicals, batch coding materials, and thinners.
These items have been transported to NAFDAC’s office for further investigation, with the estimated street value of the seized goods around ₦50 million.
NAFDAC reiterated its commitment to protecting public health by targeting illegal and unregulated products in the Nigerian market.
The agency advised consumers to be cautious when buying cosmetics, especially from unverified sources, and to report any suspicious products to NAFDAC.
This enforcement action highlights NAFDAC’s continued efforts to combat the production and distribution of counterfeit goods, which pose significant risks to public health and safety.
The agency emphasized that such actions are part of a broader strategy to ensure that only regulated and certified products are available to consumers, maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s cosmetics market.
