Eko Hot Blog reports that the list, which went viral on social media on Friday, sparked widespread reactions—particularly over Yesufu’s inclusion, given her persistent criticism of the current administration.

Unlike the 66 honourees officially announced by the President on Thursday, the circulating list contains 102 names.
In response, Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, stated that no new list has been released apart from the one previously made public.
Ajayi said in a Facebook post, “The story on a viral list of national honours featuring the name of Aisha Yesufu and others credited to the Leadership newspaper is fake news. It should be ignored.
“The Presidency has not issued fresh names for national honour different from the ones in President Tinubu’s address to the joint sitting of the National Assembly yesterday.”
On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu conferred national honours on 66 individuals in recognition of their contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey.
The announcement was made during his address at a joint session of the National Assembly as part of the June 12 Democracy Day celebrations.
Among those honoured posthumously were Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, Humphrey Nwosu, and Kudirat Abiola, celebrated for their pivotal roles in the June 12 movement and the broader fight for democracy.
