Nations League: Rice, Saka, Palmer, Others Pull Out Of England Squad
Interim England manager Lee Carsley faces his final two matches with a heavily depleted squad, following the withdrawal of eight senior players.
Key players Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale have all pulled out — seven of them from Premier League top-four clubs.

To fill the gaps, 22-year-old attacking midfielder Rogers has earned his first senior call-up after an impressive season with Aston Villa, contributing three goals and three assists under manager Unai Emery.
Jarrod Bowen, Jarrad Branthwaite, and uncapped players Tino Livramento and James Trafford have also joined the squad.
Rice and Saka exited during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, while Alexander-Arnold, who sustained a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, is expected back later this month. Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed surprise at Grealish’s initial call-up, given that he hasn’t played since October 20.
