NDLEA in mid-February declared Abba Kyari wanted for Drug-related offences and also belonging to an international drug cartel

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed an eight-count criminal charge against Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of police (DCP), and six others over allegations of drug trafficking.
The other defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022 include Sunday J. Ubia, Bawa James, Simon Agirigba and John Nuhu. The three defendants are members of the police intelligence response team (IRT), a unit formerly led by Kyari.

Others are Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne, two alleged drug traffickers that were arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
In count one, Abba Kyari, ACP Sunday Ubua, ASP Bawa James, Inspector Simon Agirigba, and Inspector John Nuhu, all of Intelligence Response Team were said to have between January 19 and 25 dealt in 17. 55 kilograms of cocaine and committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 14 (b) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, CAP 30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
NDLEA in mid-February said the suspended Abba Kyari is a member of an international drug cartel.
The agency said it initially invited Kyari for questioning since concluding its investigation but the suspended police boss was yet to respond.
The police later arrested Kyari and four other police officers for their involvement in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, discreditable, unethical, and unprofessional conduct, official corruption and tampering with exhibits in a case of illicit drug trafficking involving a transnational drug cartel.
Kyari is also currently facing possible extradition to the United States over allegations of conniving with international fraudster, Ramon Abass aka Hushpuppi.
