Garba, a seasoned tactician, returns to lead the Golden Eaglets following a recommendation by the NFF Technical Committee and subsequent approval by the Executive Committee. He is best known for guiding Nigeria’s U-17 team to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013, earning global praise for his player development skills and tactical discipline.
On the other hand, Moses Aduku has been named as the new head coach of the Falconets, Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team. He replaces Chris Danjuma. Aduku recently led Bayelsa Queens to victory in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), and is widely recognized for his deep understanding of the women’s game and his success in grooming young female players.
Both coaches are expected to officially assume duty on Sunday, July 27, as they prepare their respective teams for crucial competitions. The Falconets are set to face Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers this September, while the Golden Eaglets will compete in the WAFU B U-17 Boys Tournament, which Nigeria will host around the same period.

The NFF has yet to release details about their contract terms or supporting technical staff, but the appointments have stirred excitement within the football community. Many believe the return of Garba and the emergence of Aduku could mark a new era of progress and dominance for Nigeria in youth football, both on the male and female fronts.
