Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company recorded a load of 30 megawatts, while Abuja Electricity Distribution Company received 20 megawatts.
All other distribution companies were allocated zero megawatts, confirming a widespread system failure. Benin, Eko, Enugu, Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt and Yola electricity distribution companies all recorded 0 megawatts, leaving major cities and large parts of the country without power.
In total, electricity distributed nationwide stood at just 50 megawatts, a level far below what is required to sustain supply to homes, businesses and critical infrastructure.

Nigeria’s power grid has suffered repeated collapses in recent years, often leading to nationwide blackouts and slow restoration of supply, further highlighting the fragility of the country’s electricity infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Grid (NNG) said efforts to restore power were ongoing.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Transmission Company of Nigeria nor the Federal Ministry of Power had issued an official statement explaining the cause of the collapse or providing a timeline for full restoration of electricity supply.
