Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has declared that Nigeria cannot and will never be Islamised, insisting that any agenda aimed at imposing religion on the country has failed.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Oyedepo made the statement during a sermon at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, while reacting to ongoing reports of killings and alleged genocide in parts of Nigeria.

His remarks came days after the United States carried out airstrikes on a suspected terrorist enclave in Sokoto State on Christmas Day, an action that has drawn widespread reactions across the country.
The cleric told his congregation that God had assured him that the battle against terrorism in Nigeria was already settled, adding that international interest in confronting insecurity later followed that divine assurance.
“For the first time in nearly 20 years, the persecutors are smelling. I said it clearly and loudly that Nigeria will never be Islamised and can never be Islamised,” Oyedepo said.

He added that any form of religious agenda threatening Nigeria’s unity had been defeated, describing the moment as a confirmation of God’s faithfulness.
“Every form of Islamic agenda for this nation is dead and buried. I am not only happy, I am overjoyed and jubilating over the faithfulness of God,” he declared.
Oyedepo further claimed that when he previously spoke about God intervening in Nigeria’s security challenges, there was little global attention, but that international involvement later increased.
“The battle is won. God said to me, ‘I have heard you and I have stepped in.’ There was no foreign interest at that time, but interests began to arise around the world. Finally, the battle is over,” he said.
He also questioned the narrative around genocide, urging Nigerians to focus on the reality of killings and the identity of those most affected.
“Genocide or no genocide is not the issue. Are there killings? Who are the greater victims? Who are the primary targets?” he asked.
