Nigeria’s chances of securing a medal at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games took a hit when Tobi Amusan failed to advance to the final of the women’s 100m hurdles.

Amusan, the world record holder and one of the favorites to win gold, finished third in her semi-final heat, narrowly missing out on automatic qualification. She ended up 9th overall in the final standings.

The 27-year-old athlete from Ogun State had reached the final of the 100m hurdles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics but is still seeking her first Olympic medal.
