In a statement issued by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company dismissed the allegation as “baseless and entirely unfounded,” emphasizing that it originated from “unverified and amateur research lacking credibility, accuracy, and professional oversight.”
NNPC assured consumers that its fuel is produced with high-quality formulations designed to ensure optimal efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability.
It further clarified that a significant portion of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos—where the video was reportedly recorded—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, a key partner in local production and energy security.
According to NNPC, the Dangote Refinery adheres to stringent industry standards, guaranteeing the quality of petroleum products supplied to consumers.
The company condemned the video as a deliberate attempt by economic saboteurs to mislead the public and tarnish its reputation. It warned that it would take legal action against individuals or groups spreading falsehoods about its brand and operations.
