In the early hours of Saturday, an explosion occurred on Otedola bridge in Lagos.
A confirmation in a statement was made by the Lagos State Police Command, that nobody died in the fire outbreak incident.
Muyiwa Adejobi who is the Public Relations Officer gave an update, and said the accident was recorded about 2.30am.
According to him, two heavy duty vehicles clashed– one laden with Premium Motor Spirit, aka Petrol and the other carrying a container at Otedola end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to reports, it was discovered that container driver lost control and drove into the PMS tanker.
The Spokesman words:
“No life was lost. All efforts are on to ease traffic along the expressway,”
The spokesman also revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has visited the scene to have a first-hand information on the incident.
Emergency agencies and other law enforcement agencies are present to curb the situation.
According to sources, they include Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency, and Lagos Emergency Management Agency.
