EDITOR’S PICKS
Though public information about Big Larry’s life and career is limited, his contribution to Nollywood will be remembered.
Since January 2024, Nollywood has suffered the loss of numerous prominent figures, including Mr Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Junior Pope, Sisi Quadri, and Ganiyu ‘Ogunjimi’ Oyeyemi. Other actors who passed away this year include Olofa Ina, Adejumoke Aderounmu, Saratu Gidado, Reginald Ebere, Ethel Ekpe, and Onyeka Onwenu.
In response to the tragic string of losses, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) organized a four-day fasting and prayer session in May, led by Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International, to address the growing number of deaths in the industry.
AGN President Emeka Rollas stated, “Actors cannot continue to die like chickens,” urging the Nollywood community to join in prayer to “address this ugly reproach.”
The prayer session took place from May 2 to 5 at the M & M Center in Garki, Abuja.
