NSCDC Nabs 85-Year-Old Man for Defiling 4-Year-Old Child

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 85-year-old Ibrahim Haruna for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl in Kongo community, Keffi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Jerry Victor, narrated that the victim’s elder sister raised the alarm after noticing the child walking with discomfort and observing blood stains on her legs.

Upon questioning, the young girl revealed that Haruna had lured her into his room when no one was around.
Victor further disclosed that a medical report confirmed the child had been defiled.
“The case will be handed over to the state Ministry of Justice after thorough investigation for a speedy trial,” he stated.
While Haruna has denied the allegations, claiming it was a frame-up, preliminary findings revealed that he is a neighbor of the victim’s family.
In a separate development, the NSCDC in Nasarawa State has arrested three suspected cult members accused of causing destruction and harassment in the Layin Yan Kaji and Super Cinema areas of Lafia.
The suspects were apprehended with items including two locally made pistols, live cartridges, and tools such as phone pliers and scissors.
The command linked the arrests to efforts to curb crime and vandalism in the state.

This follows a December 2024 clash between rival cult groups in the same areas, which resulted in property damage, including the destruction of six vehicles and the burning of a motorcycle.
The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to reducing crime and ensuring public safety across Nasarawa State. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
