EKO HOT BLOG reports that NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, lauded the state’s investigative panel for its fairness and adherence to Public Service Rules. He emphasized that the NYSC will not tolerate any form of abuse against Corps members, who are vital contributors to nation-building and unity.

“Corps members, as individuals on national service, deserve respect, appreciation, and decent treatment from employers and host communities,” Ahmed stated. He reaffirmed that the security and welfare of Corps members remain a top priority.

Ahmed also encouraged Corps members to honor their Oath of Allegiance and continue fulfilling their duties as ambassadors of the scheme, promoting national unity and socio-economic development.
The incident, which stemmed from a disagreement over a perceived lack of proper greeting, led to verbal and physical assault by the teacher. Following a formal complaint from the Corps member, the NYSC escalated the matter to the Kwara State Government, resulting in the panel’s recommendation for sanctions against Hamzat.
