NYSC Lagos Kicks Off 3rd Quarter Health Initiative in Ibeju-Lekki
Ekohotblog reports that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State has commenced its 3rd Quarter Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) at the Ibeju-Lekki Health Center.

The program, kicked off with a health awareness session to teach the local community basic health practices and why it’s important to seek medical help on time.
In her opening speech, the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, who was represented by the Assistant Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Mrs. Ehinwenma Itohan, explained the goal of the program.
She said it was a “free medical outreach” aimed at giving good healthcare to people in rural areas, to support what the government is already doing.
Mrs. Baderinwa also encouraged the people of Ibeju-Lekki to continue “supporting and accommodating corps members” so they can make the most of their time and efforts in the community.

Dr. Modupe Agbonmelo, who spoke on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, praised the NYSC for the outreach. She said it was very helpful in meeting the health needs of the community.
Other important figure at the event included Alhaja Mobi Raji, the community women leader, and Alhaji Onibeju Wasiu, the Education Secretary of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
Both dignitaries praised the NYSC for their tireless efforts in delivering essential healthcare services to underserved communities.
They acknowledged the significant role the NYSC has played in bridging the healthcare gap in rural areas and expressed optimism that the initiative would continue to grow, reaching more people in need of medical attention.
On the second day of the program, the medical outreach continues at the Bogije Primary Health Care Centre, offering more health services to rural residents in the area.
