EKO HOT BLOG reports that a message from the NYSC Local Government Inspector (LGI), obtained by SaharaReporters on Sunday, directed Rita, identified by code number LA/24B/832, to report to the Eti Osa 3 local government office by 10 a.m. on Monday without fail.
Rita had shared an emotional video on TikTok under the handle @talktoraye, expressing frustration over the rising cost of living in Nigeria. In the video, she called Tinubu a “terrible” president, accusing the government of failing to address economic hardship.
“If a lot of Nigerians come out and start speaking about what we are going through, maybe changes will be made in the government,” she stated.
She lamented how the cost of goods, including basic food items, had skyrocketed, making it difficult for her to survive on the NYSC allowance.
“I just returned from a supermarket where I went to buy foodstuff, and everything has gone up again. Prices increase every single week. What is the government doing about this? Will there ever be a time when prices will stop rising?
“Why is a crate of eggs now ₦6,500? I remember when eggs cost ₦800. I am overwhelmed because this is my first time living outside my family home.”
Rita also complained about the rising cost of transportation, utility bills, and poor living conditions in Lagos.
“The crazy thing is, you want to go out with a friend, and Uber is ₦25,000. Lagos stinks everywhere. What is the government doing about the smell?”
Shortly after posting the video, Rita revealed that she received multiple calls from NYSC officials, urging her to delete the post and stop criticizing the government.
She later uploaded another clip, showing herself receiving a phone call from an NYSC official.
“Thirty minutes ago, I got a call from the NYSC board, first from the secretariat, then the LGI,” she said.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some Nigerians supporting her stance while others argue that her remarks were inappropriate for a serving corps member.
